Frequently Asked Questions
How do i protect my Damascus steel blades from going bad?
- Coat the blade in a light oil (such as WD-40 or olive oil). Oiling a Damascus steel blade can give it a rich luster that will do justice to its natural, gorgeous pattern.
- Do not store in leather sheath long term (longer than a month), it can result in blade staining due to absorbent nature of leather.
- If storing in leather, it is recommended you prep the blade, wrap it in plastic wrap then insert the knife in the sheath.
- Please avoid using dishwasher for any of the Damascus blades.
Is it real Damascus Steel?
Yes, all my Damascus blades are made by layering 15n20 n 1095 carbon steel hand made in a forge.
Where are your products made?
Our products are made by independent artisans in the US & Pakistan where all of our knives are forged by hand. Our headquartered is in Manteca, CA where all products are designed, prototyped and shipped.
How do I keep my knife sharp?
The best way to sharpen your new knife is with a whetstone. We recommend grabbing a 1000/6000 grit combo stone and a leather strop. It can be intimidating at first but with a little practice, it is by far the best and safest way to keep your knives healthy and sharp. Stay away from any type of pull-through sharpeners, as they can damage the edge and scratch the sides of the Damascus.
