As soon as my husband opened the gift, he said, "this will be passed down someday." It's a truly stunning knife and the custom engraving made it personal. My only critique is that for such a nice knife, I wish there was the option to add an upgraded gift box, which would elevate the perceived quality even more. The standard cardboard box and plastic bubble wrap felt cheap so I removed it and found a nicer box for it. Presentation is key! A small descriptive sheet that details the materials used (types of wood for the handle, metal for the blade) and a statement about the history of the company would also be really nice to include.
